Our Corporate Strategy
Our current published corporate strategy outlines our Trust's priorities for 2020-2025.
Corporate Strategy 2020-2025
The strategy was approved at our board meeting in July 2020 and developed following extensive consultation in autumn 2019. It runs until 2025 and outlines how we will achieve our ultimate aim of keeping patients and staff at the heart of everything we do while delivering our vision of outstanding care, exceptional people, every hour of every day.
The document introduces our four goals for the coming five years, which focus on our staff, quality of care, collaboration and sustainability. It also sets out the enabling strategies which underpin this work and will further transform our Trust into an exceptional place to work, learn and volunteer while we continue to meet the very highest performance standards.
In 2022, the Trust undertook an exercise to rationalise the 17 strategies that existed in the organisation down to three thematic strategies – a Clinical Strategy, a People Strategy and a Sustainability Strategy. These thematic strategies would support the delivery of the Trust Strategy and set a clear direction for these three themes up to 2025.
Our current strategic framework is illustrated in the diagram below which sets out our Trust vision and strategic goals. In 2023, we published the EEAST Clinical Strategy 2023-25 and the EEAST People Strategy 2023-25. We are due to publish the EEAST Sustainability Strategy shortly.
Corporate Strategy co-production
We’re now in the final year of our current strategy, so it’s the right time to think about how we are doing and what we want to achieve over the coming five years.
We’ve seen lots of progress in recent years, with better outcomes for patients and improvements in our culture to name just two areas. However, we still have much more we need to do. As we progress further it’s important to listen to our people, our public and our stakeholders to shape the strategy for EEAST for 2025-2030.
The first stage of our strategy development was to ask our people for their views. Nearly 7,000 contributions were shared by nearly 700 people during this stage.
Based on their contributions we’ve created a draft framework for our vision, values and goals which will create our strategy.
In July we’ll be asking our public and stakeholders for their views. Every single comment will help us build a new future for EEAST.
