Introduction / Background:
C2 improvement remains our largest area of risk, and as such is a key priority, both nationally and for EEAST. The Operational Performance Improvement Plan (OPIP) has been developed for 2024/25 with a key focus on C2 improvement, and based on four priority areas, informed by Connected Planning:
- Job Cycle Time
- Vehicle availability
- Hear & Treat
- Productive Patient Facing Staff Hours (PFSH)
Other areas of focus include response times, staffing capacity and handover, sickness, out of Service times, and hours lost to handover delays. In addition to the ongoing OPIP plans, EEAST have also engaged with AACE for a full review of OPIP (commenced 22 August) and are running an internal information summit on 04 September.
Key Issues / Risks:
- Continuation of hospital handover delays and cohorting demand; higher than the agreed 2,000 hours maximum limit. Challenges in visibility with wider productivity metrics, including job cycle time. Call handler and dispatch capacity within EOC. Out-turned C2 performance remaining higher than 30-minutes.
