How your donations make a difference
Thanks to your generosity, the East of England Ambulance Service Charity is able to make a real difference across our region. Here’s how your donations are creating impact every day.
Wellbeing gardens
Thanks to your donations, the East of England Ambulance Service Charity are able to fund wellbeing gardens that have become a place of calm for EEAST staff after traumatic calls and stressful situations. These spaces have had an incredible impact on EEAST volunteers and staff.
“The job we do can be tough, hugely rewarding but tough. And it’s after those hard calls where our wellbeing gardens really make a difference! It gives us that much needed space to sit, away from clinical work environment, to take some fresh air and a moment away from the job” - Nick Cason, Local Area Manager
GoodDOGs
Animals are known for bringing joy and a sense of calm to people and thanks to you support we are able to support the GoodDOG initiative.
The GoodDOGs are owned by dedicated EEAST staff and have been assessed as a wellbeing dog. Together, they visit stations and welfare waggons to offer a friendly face.
“As soon as you see a GoodDOG an instant smile is put on your face. They lift your mood and transport you to a place of joy, where the stresses of the day just disappear.” - Emergency Operations Centre, Norwich
CFR roving cars
With your help, we’re able to fund community first responder (CFR) roving cars, which play a vital role in reaching more people across a wider area. These cars enable our volunteer CFRs to respond quickly to patients in their communities, which, when every second counts in a life-saving emergency, can make all the difference. Over the past year, these vehicles have helped reach and care for 3,500 patients.
“The CFR car has been directly responsible for a patient’s survival. Due to a quick response time, we managed to get a return of spontaneous circulation ROSC (where the patient’s heart has stopped and has restarted thanks to lifesaving interventions). There have been two other recent occasions where we certainly played a significant part in patient’s ROSCs.” - Stuart Little, Danbury Community First Responder
Community CPR training
Thanks to you, we’re able to support EEAST Heart, a program run by dedicated volunteers and staff. They deliver free potentially life-saving training sessions to the public in basic life support and AED awareness, sharing skills and building confidence in what to do in a medical emergency.
