Ambulance service staff donate 1,000 gifts to Salvation Army appeal
Date: 19 December 2024Staff from EEAST’s Emergency Operations Centres in Norwich and Chelmsford have donated over 1,000 gifts to the Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal.

Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) teams donated the gifts to help ensure families who might be struggling receive a Christmas present this year. The collection was organised by Olivia Howard, Sophie Bailey and Chloe Finch at Chelmsford EOC and Stephen Notley and Georgina Humphreys at Norwich EOC.
Deputy Chief of Clinical Operations for EEAST Rachael Edwards, said: “How amazing, kind, and generous of our teams to support this appeal. I am so proud of everyone involved. Thank you and well done to everyone.”
Simon King, Head of Clinical Operations for EOC, said: “As I’ve been travelling around seeing our teams, I’ve seen plenty of initiatives to support our local communities, including these gifts for children of struggling families. “It's a reminder for us all that Christmas can also be a tough time for some. I'm really proud of our EOC teams.”
Lynda Hampel, Secretary at Salvation Army’s Chelmsford Citadel, said: “This is fantastic and so kind of your teams at the Ambulance Service. Thanks to you and your colleagues for thinking of others and I can assure you that your gifts will be really appreciated on Christmas morning.”
