Glenn's Journey - Paramedic

Photo of Glenn's Journey

Glenn Carrington is a paramedic who has been with the Trust for 39 years.

I started at EEAST back in 1986 as a patient transport driver which I thoroughly enjoyed, before I decided to become an emergency medical technician in 1992. As I was a medic in the army I knew I loved the adrenaline rush of frontline work. I then became a paramedic in 1996 and although I did come across challenges along the way, I'm still here and there is no job like it.

I love my role as paramedic with the Trust - even on our worst days you can still have a positive outlook and feel job satisfaction. I hope that I'm a positive role model for young people of colour wanting to join the ambulance service. I like to think I'm making a difference.
