Anna's Journey - Make Ready Supervisor

Career for Life - Anna Fright

Anna Fright is a make ready supervisor.

I joined the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) back in 2022 having reached a crossroad in my career as a safeguarding officer. I had always liked the idea of working for the emergency services as I love helping people in anyway I can, so when I saw the role of make ready operative being advertised I just went for it and Im so happy I did!

I love every aspect of my role - I get to be with the most amazing, caring people on a daily basis, but most importantly Im part of a fantastic team who get ambulances ready so that crews can go out and attend the most poorly patients. This is just one of the reasons I feel very proud and privileged to be part of EEAST.

I started as a make ready operative and have since been given the opportunity to learn more and apply for a supervisor role. I believe career progression is incredibly important, and with the help of other supervisors who have been training me and allowing me to take the relevant courses, I am now in a great position to confidently move forward in my career journey.

If youre considering a career with EEAST, the only advice I could give would be to go for it! It is such a brilliant place to work for, not only is there great leadership but friendly, happy staff who are always willing to help you progress and push towards your goals.
